useful Improvement in Draft-Rigging for Railway-Cargof which the following is a .full. clear, concise, and exact description,
- reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in draftrigging for railway cars, and more particularly to connecting thimbles'for draft yokes.
The object of my invention is to provide a connecting thimble for draft yoke in which the connecting rivets will have a double shear act-ion instead of a single shear action, and one which is easily applied to and removed from the draft yoke.
In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification Figure l is a perspective view of a draft yoke, the front end being broken away, and having a connecting thimble embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of one member of the connecting thimble showing the inner face thereof, and Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the other member of the connecting thimble showing the outer face'thereof.

f). lunch of these members consists of a preferably strap like portion 10, having at either end thereof and on the same side substantially parallehdisposed flanges 11 and 12. Each of these members'is substantially U shaped, and may be made identical in shape and size. One of the members through one flange engages the outer face 13 of one limb of the yoke, and the/other flange of' said member engages the inner. face 11 of the other limb of the yoke. The other member engages through one flange the outer face 15 of the last mentioned limb of the yoke, and through its other flange the inner face 16 of the other limb of the yoke. Each of the flanges are provided with perforations.

I claim:'
1. In combination with a draft yoke, a connectingthimble comprising two U-shaped members, each secured to both limbs of the yoke.
2. In combination with a draft yoke, a connecting thimble comprising two counterpart Ushapcd members, one of said members secured to the outer face of one limb of the yoke and the inner face of the other limb of the yoke, the o1 her member secured to the outer face of the last named limb of the yoke and to the inner face of the other yoke limb, substantially as specified.
