ltlidilhlillhlll BRICK-PLLELU Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed January 29, 1912.' Serial No. 674,019.
it known that We, Anson J. BENTLEY and FRANK Buurten', citizens ot the VUnited States-ot Ltinerica, i.'esi\,l.iiu at Niles and `Warren, respectively, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and usel'ul Improvements in B1'ick-Pallets, of which the iblloivinp` is a specification.
Our invention relates to iinptovements in brick-pallets ot the kind shown in our Letters Patent No. 833,665, @ctober 16th, 1906 and No. 859,039, July 2nd, 1907; and the objects et our inifention, are, while retaining the levelness of the pallets during transportation or the bricks to or troni rack driers and. also keepingv theni apart as they lie on cars, to pei-init ot' tree circulation of air between the bricks on the pallets; iirst, to increase the strength of the pallets With outadditional Weight or material, second, to provide more convenient erasping edges for carrying the Jhird, to reduce the inanuta tnrin attain these objec's o trated in the sce whieln- Figure l is Fig'. 2 is a nioditucationu Similar letters zthroughont the s From a sheet o mechanism illusg drawing, in

1 i l i l fication may be used With a thinner sheetv of metal becauseA of the stiffening eiect of rolled edges 7, 7; but bricks can be conveniently carried on only one side of it, obverse to the side shown in Fig. 2. lVhereas the pallet shown in Fig. l can be used equally Well either side up. An advantage in having the edges ot' the pallet rolled is that the saine affords a convenient means for gripping the same with the hands.
The advantages of our invention are apparent. v
It is obvious that if one substitutes for the more convenient round rod or mandrel one oit any other shape for 'turning over the edges of the pallet sheet, our invention will not be departed from.
lVe claim l. A pallet comprising a metallic sheethaving projecting end portions, and said end portions beingrolled transversely of the sheet and providing hand gripping devices, substantially as described.
9. .fl pallet comprising a metallic sheet having project-ing end portions, said end portions and the sides of the metallic sheet being' rolled and disposed to .one side ot the surface of the sheet, substantially as described. v
ln testimony whereof 'we atlix our signatures in presence ot two Witnesses.
