W hat I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

l. ln a stretcher or drier, in combination with frame members, the middle clamp having two longitudinal slots toward the middle port-ion of the said clamp, through each oit which a thumb screw having an elongated head passes, a clamp for securing the central trame member having on each side /thereof a slot ident-ical with the slots in the said rst mentioned clamp, and through which the said thumb screw passes, having its elongated head on the same side of the frame as the Acentra] frame member; the said slots being of such length as to permit the ends of each halt of the longitudinal frame members to abut and yet to slide apart suciently to turn inwardly on the said screw and the length of the said elongated head being such as to prevent the said thumb screw from turning on account of said head bringing up against the middle 50 portion of said last mentioned clamp.

2. ln a stretcher or drier of the character described in combination with slats forming the four sides of the frame and a central frame member, the central frame member l5 being secured to the middle portion of the sides of the said frame by a clamp containing a longitudinal slot in each end of the same, and on each side of the loop through which the middle member of the said traine passes the reinforcing clamp housing the middle ends ot the side slats, a thumb screw passing through the saidv slot in the said first mentioned clamp, and through two identical slots located toward the Center of the middle portion of the 'g1-einforcing clamp, and on each side of the central member of the said frame, a thumb screw having an elongated head abutting against the said middle frame member and passing through the slots Vin both of the said clamps,
