To all whom it may concern:

Be: .it known that I, THoMAs BERNARD KUGZYNBKI, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Milwaukee, in the county of ing-bar whereby the garment so suspended is tightly held,but is not creasedin the fold.

Another object of my invention is to provide means for attachlng the clamping-bar to the reach-bar, whereby garments varying in thickness may be clamped therebetween.

With the above and other minor objects in view the invention consists incertain peculiarities of construction and combination of parts as set forth hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings and subsequently claimed.

In the drawings Figure 1 represents a side elevation of a garment hanger embodying the features of my invention, with parts broken away to more clearly show structural features; Fig. 2, a detailed cross-section showing a clamping and reach-bar connection; Fig. 3, a detail plan view of a frag ment of the bow portion of a hanger showing the neck-cli and Fig. 4, a detailed fragmentary en view of the tongue and groove connection between the bow member and the reach-bar.

Referring by characters to the drawings,

1 represents a bow member of ordinary con-v struction formed by oppositely extended oblique strips connected in any suitable manner and provided at their intersecting point with a hanger book 3. The neck-portionof the bow member carries a pair of spring fingers 4 constituting neok-cllps, whereby a coat, vest or similar arment is gripped about the neck and hel in proper position with relation to the bow.

Permanently secured to the oblique ends of the bow is a reach-bar 5 having an upper convexed edge 5 that is arranged to be nested withinthe concavededge 6' of a clamping-v bar 6. One end of the clamping-bar is formed with an oblique face that corresponds with the oblique face of the adjacent bow portion, this oblique end of the clamping-bar being butted thereagainstwhen positioned against the reach-bar. The opposite end of the clampin -bar is provided with a tapered end 6", w llOh end is engaged by one stretch of a link 7 that is carried by the reach-bar, theopposing stretch of said link being arranged to engage a slightly tapered face 5 of said reach-bar. The reach-bar at this end is also provided with a longitudinal channel 8 for the reception of a nut 9, which nut is provided for en agement with a' thumb-screw 9' that exten s through the slot 10 of a face-plate 11,- the said facelate being secured to the adjacent end 0 the bow and reach-bar. By this construction when the link is moved forward to engage 'the tapered end 6 of the clamping-bar,

whereby said clamping-bar is drawn tlghtly to the reach-bar, said link is held in its adjusted position by the head of thethumbscrew 9 engagin a side stretch of said link. Thereafter the olt is secured in its adjusted position by a slight turn of its head, it being understood that the oblique opposite end of the clamping-bar is secured by its wed ing engagement between the reach-bar and ow member at their intersecting points.

From the foregoing description it is apparent that theclamping-bar will thus secure a pair of trousers to the reach'bar by clamping engagement and that the trousers so secured will be suspended therefrom and draw against the convened face of the reachbar, whereby a crease is avoided. It is also apparent that the clam ing-bar can be adjusted to compensate or the thickness of one or more pairs of trousers or other garment-s.

I claim: a

1. In a arment-hanger having a yoke, and a reac -bar connecting the yoke' ends, the same being provided with an upper convexed edge; the combination of a clamping- -bar having a concaved ed e adapted to nest a clamping-bar havingan oblique end face adapted to nest between one of the oblique faces of the yoke and the reach-bar at their intersecting points, the said clamping-bar beingprovided also With a concaved edge:

that is adapted to nest upon the convexed edge of the reachrber, and means for adjust- Qably securing the opposite end of said clamping-bar to the aforesaid reachbar.
