` k The nature of the presentinvention consists in so 'forming thehase offthe spring that tmay be readily `clamped toa bell-Slat by means of a nut and screwjb'o'lt, while, at the same time, "the spring may be removed rfrom the Slat by simply loosening the nnt,`-bnt not-turning it off from the screw-bolt.

Q'lfhe difcultyheretoforeexperienced in fastening springs to bed-slats `bynntsfand screws, consists in the loss of nuts and screws during transportation or re- Vmoval. `But by means of-my device the springs can `be separately packed, while, at .the same time, the

Y Through the slat Ais placed a screw-bolt, C, whiolr `is provided with a nut, D,land washer, E, and which v holds thestrap B and spring G to the slat A. l

That part of the 'spring terminating its base is so bent over the screw-bolt G that the nut D will hold the spring fast tothe Slat, but itv (the spring) is `left open at its lower end, 'so that it may be removed from the'slat A by simplylooseningkthe nut D.

An improvement'in bed-bottoms, consisting of the spring Gr, so bent over at the termination of its base that it may be held to a slat, A, by means of a screwbolt, C, and nut, D,in combination with a tie-strap,
