the opening and closing of the door, and to this end the invention consists in certain constructions, arrangements and combinations of devices which willbe described hereinafter and then pointed out in the appended claim. 1
In carrying out the objectof the invention generally stated above, it will be understood of course, that the essential features thereof are susceptible lto changes in details -and structural arrangements, one preferred and' ,characters designate similar parts, a. indi.-
cates a car of any well known construction having the door opening 5 therein adapted to be closed bythe door 6 which is supported in a manner which will presently appear'.
Extending longitudinall of an above the door opening 5 is a trac i casing o r heus-f ing 7 which is of rectangular formation and which is secured to the side of a 'car yar. in any preferred inanner. Secured Pto the/,vertical side of the housin 7 adjacent thellower end 4 thereof and-exten in longitudinally of said ,-the'door 6. The housing is provided with-g' i a closedend y10 andgan gnned'end housing are the l'para lel traks which are spaced to provide a longitudinal slot.9 for the reception of a p rtien ofthe. hereinafter described device des' gnd to be connected to Specication ot Letters Patent. Application le'd August 28, 1912. 'Serial N o. 717,562.

is adapted'to be closed by means ofa detachl able door 12 provided upon its inner surface with thealined staples 13 which are adapted .to receive the locking pin 14 which is assed through alined 'transverse openings fld in the vertical sides of the said housing.
The door 6 has secured to its upper edge rmed a plurality of supports b 4which are preferably formedy from a single length of material to provide the'door engaging members 15 which 'are secured to the door by means of the fasteners 16. Each of the supports is contracted intermediate the. ends thereof to provide shoulders 17 adapted vfor engage' ment with the top edge of the .door andthe remaining portions 18 of the support b are adapted to receive therebetween a spacin adapted to, receive the which projects be ond each side of the portions 18. Each o the axles 20 is adapted to receive thereonon each side of the portions 18 a grooved wheel 21, all of said wheels being adapted to engage. the tracks S-When the door is being supported by the housing.
It will be seen, by the provision of the g bl0ckvl9, sald portionslS and block 19 being I provided with alined transverse openings transverse axle 20` particular form of housing, that the hanger .1s amply projected against the elements. such as. snow and rain and 'that there the door being 4prevented from wor smoothlyat all times. From the foregoing description taken 'in plates providing 'a 'door' simple in construction, thus reducing the cost lof manufactured the same-to a minif 4mumand which is durable arid'eifective in desl hat 1s claimedissfedoor carrying out 4the purpose forwliich it is j'lfusing, said suppanying drawings,
hanger 'which' isl port-s each constructed of a single length of and Wheels carried on the slm-ft to operate material terminally -formed to. provide withthe tracks of the hanger. 10 spaced leaves at one end'to embrace each In testimony whereof'l aix my signature side ofthe door and vertically extending in presence of two Witnesses.
upper sections spaced apart a distance less EVERETT P. ADAMS. than the leaves, a Spacing block arranged be- Witnesses: tween the upper' sections and "Wheel Shaft IJ. YV. BRADLEY, project-ing through said sections and block, i l), A. ADAMS.
