Be it known that I, JACQUES L. VAUGLAIN, a citizen of the -United States, residing in Philadelphia, Philadelphia county, State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Superheaters,

This invention relates to superheaters for locomotive ,and like boilers in which the superheater ,pipes are located in a group 1n a large fire-tube or flue on the boiler.
The objectof the invention isto facilitate the insertion and removal of the individual superheater pipes and in accordance with the invention the steam from the boiler is delivered to a steam dome, which is preferably auxiliary to the main dome and has in its bottom a tube sheet in which the ends of thesuperheater pipesturned up at substantially a right angle to their length, are

Ina-'steam boiler, the combination of a' boiler shell, a Hue extended longitudinally through 'the same, an internal casing secured to the boiler shell at its upper end and to the Hue at its lower end, a4 steam dome disposed within said casing andy receiving steam; at itsv upper end and having a ytube sheet at its lower end, a series of.' superheater pipes having their rear ends bent upwardly and secured in said tube sheet, and' a-h'eader to whichsaid pipes are secured at their forward ends. f

In a steam boiler, the combination of a yboiler shell, a Hue extended longitudinally through the same, a main steam dome, an auxiliary stealn dome receiving steam at its upper end from the main dome and having a tube sheet at its lower end,.a series of` superheater pipes having their rear ends bent upwardly and secured'in the tube sheet, and a header toy which said pipes are secured in said forward end.

In a steam boiler, the combination of a boiler shell, a flue extended longitudinally through the same, an internal casing secured at its upper end to the shell and at its lower end to the Hue, a main steam dome, an auxiliary steam dome disposed within said internal casing and receiving steam at its upper end from the main dome and having a tube sheet at its lower end, a series of superheater pipes bent upwardly at their rear ear ends bent upwardly end a Vtube sheet a ends within the Hue,
