IMPROVEMENT IN PAINT IQR MARBLEIZING- WOOD.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known t-hatl, FRANoIs G. Poxons'r, in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Paint for Marhleizing Wood; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same. s
This invention consists in a composition of matter to be used for imparting to wood the appearance of marble, the elements of which are the following:
I Paint, finely ground, and of color corresponding to that of the marhlelto he imitated, one pound; linseedoil, boiled, two ounces; varnish, Dammar, one and three-fourth ounces; aqua fortis, twenty-five drops; spirits of turpentine, two gills. 7
These ingredients should be well mixed.
, The manner of applying the paint is as follows:
'A trough, large enough to receive a mantle-shelf, was'h-sta'nd, or other similar article, is nearly filled with water, on the surface of whicha sufficient quantity of paint, prepared as above described,i s sprinkled,
