Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that I, llowano Ksnrnn, a
citizen of the United States, residing at hlilton, in the county of Northumherlaiul and State of PennsylVania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Leggings, of which the following is a specification.
l-"his invention relates to leggings or like protecting apparel and has for an object to provide an article of this character which will be particularly designed for use by hunters or like sportsmen and which will be capable of convenient adj'ustu'ient to the leg and which will form an e'tl'ective protector therefor and for the trousers or the like beneath the legging to prevent them from being torn while the device is in service.
In the drawing forming a portion of this application, and in which like letters of reference indicate similar parts in the several views :Figure l is a perspective view showing the application of the intention. Fig. 2 is a section taken vertically through a portion of the legging.
The legging is preferablyconstructed of leather or like suitable tough material and it comprises a lower leg protectii'ig portion 1 and a similar upper protecting portion 2, the latter; being continued directly into the former and being preferably formed of the same material. At one side the legging is split; substantially throughout the portions 1 and 2 and at the oppos te sides of the split portion the logging has secured thereto suit: able lace'rctammg elements 3 and 4 with.

The bottom of the portion 1 is provided with a foot loop 5 which is adapted to be engaged beneath the foot of the wearer so as to hold the legging against, working up upon the leg. These loop members are adjustablv connected by straps or the like 9 with belt receiving loops 10 thrpugh which the belt around the waist of the wearer as shown in Fig. 1 ma be passed and securely made to hold the legging against dropping down from the leg.
