Be it known that I, Louis SHMETZER, of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain Improvements in Clothes-Wringers, of which the following is a specificatiomrei'erence being had to the accompanying drawing.
My invention consists in the peculiar ar rangement of twoipairs of arms hinged together, and havingthe `rolls mounted in them and pressed together by rubber bands stretched around the arms, as hereinafter described.

,In constructing my wringer, I first-provide two like arms, A, having the U- shaped arms l a upon their lower sides, to t upon the tub or other receptacle, and noteheshin their upper sides to receive the journals of the lowerV roll, and I connect these arms together, parallel with each other by means of two rods, b, as shown. To the end of each of these arms A, I hingethe end of an independent arm, C, having a series of notches, e, in its upper side, and a notch in its lower side to receive one of the journals of the upper roll. what I claim is- Y A clothes-wringer consisting of.. the stationary arms or frame A A, with the arms C C hinged thereto, independently of each other at their rear ends, and having mounted therein in l front of their hinged ends, the rollers B and D, with elastics E about their free ends, the Whole constructed and arranged to operate substantially as herein described.
