Bc it known that I, RUDOLF Knaus' a citif zen of the United States, residing at orona, county. of Queens, and State of New York, have invented anew pidor, of which the following. is a' specification.

VThe cuspidor comprises essentially a cupshaped shell or container which is open work and is bulged vtoward its bottom. The shell is'dividedlongitudinally into two sections 1'0 Iwhich are hingedly connected at their lower ends as at 11 and are provided with coactin'gr fasteners 12 at their upper ends. By tilting sections 1,0 upon their hinges, the shell may thus be opened or closed as will be readily understood. With the shell constructed as described,

and water proof.. The correlation of the parts is such that the insert may be conveniently grasped by the shell 10 andmay be supported on the rests 13 thereof.

In use, the shell is opened, the paper bag `is' inserted and placed upon rests 13 and then the shell is closed to securely sustain the bag in position. By seating the bag at an elev-ation above thev bottom of the shell, the moisture, etc., is prevented fromrpassing the bag into the shell, or upon thefloor, so that cleanliness is insured. Whenever necessary, the bag is removed and thrown away, while a new bag is fitted in position.
