IMPROVEMENT IN SUCKER-ROD COUPLING.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 105,235, dated July 12, 1870.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB ODELL, of Petroleum Centre, in the county of Venango and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Sucker-Rod Coupling; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing,forming part of this specification.
My invention relates to sucker-rod couplings; and consists inan improvedconstruction thereof, as will be more particularly specified hereinafter.
Figure l is a sectional elevation of my improved coupling-joint; and Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the same, taken on the line as a.
A is the lower section; B, the upper one. Both are screw-threaded at the ends, and one has an angular socket in the longitudinal axis, and the other has a corresponding projection, O, fitting in the socket, so that one cannot turn independently of'the other when coupled together by the internally-threaded thimblc or sleeve'l) screwing down from the upper section to the lower one.
