To all 'whom t ma concern:

Be it known that I, BERNARD I. CAMrr., a citizen of the United States, and ah resident of Yonkers, in the county of lestchester Sil) and State of New York, have invented a .new and improved Sweater or Like Garment, of which the following is a'full, clear, and exact description.

The invention relates more particularly to knit sweaters having turned down collars open at the front, and provided with buttonholes for receiving the buttons or ends of links.

.'With sweaters and other garments having soft collars, as specified for the wearing of'links engaging the adjacent flaps of the collar, the links are liable to become accidentali. disconnected from one or both of the collar flaps, and the collar has a tendency to curl or creep upward, and moreover, when ties are worn with the garment, they are usually four-in-ha'nds, or ties with knots similar to four-in-hands, and the knot of the tie frequently sags, putting a strain on the link tending to pull the buttons of the links through the buttonholes.

The object of my invention is to provide' e loop so located and of such a character as to permit the link to extend beneath the loop, the loop being located at the central line, or exact front of the neck of the garinent, and equi-distant from the collar flaps. With the link engaging the loop ot' my iinproved garment, the collar is held in proper l position and prevented from curling or creeping upward, and any strains.l on the collar ends at the buttons ot the link will be the loop. Moreover, the tie will he sustained in position without being drawn so tightly against the neck of the sweater to cause 'the neck and collar to gather or wrinkle, liecause the loop holds the link and the collar ends close to the neck or neclehand ot' the garment, resulting in the collar tlaps having better holding engagement on the tie adjacent to vthe knot; furthermore, the eoaction of the link and loop serves to arrest the sagging of the tie and sustains the. same.

'The invention will be more particularly described in the specitic description hereinafter to be given.

The knitted sweater l() as illustrated is -in the main of known formation, having au is made up ot several strands to `ive strength. l-liaving thus described .my invention, l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
