it is the object of this invention to pro-v vide an atta'ehn'ient to water eloset seats, -whereh a tresh sanitary seat may he supplied between eaeh time of use.

This invention of great advantage in all public toilets from a sanitary standpoint. and may be readily applied to eloset seats now in'use with but little change. or to the closets by a specially constructed seat. As the sanitary covering for the seat is preferably ot paper but little expense is attached. term, that one of their edges bound or glued together. and the top sheet removed before using. The sanitary seats are re uewahle .as easily as the toilet paper box holders now in use in public toilets. and should the sanitary. seats heeonie exhausted the function of the seat groper is,not (lestroyed.

Lines of perforations 16 are provided on each blank from the cut-away portion to the outer edge, so that while the spring plate 11 firmly engages the end portion and the main pontions are held in place by side springs 12, the top blank may be readily removed without disturbing the others by tearing through the line of perforations.

The form shown on Fig. 9 illustrates a slightly different form in which the blanks 20 are wider and are of the same contour as the seat proper with their meeting edges held under the plate 11 of the detachable spring l0 secured in the manner as shown -in Fig. 11. In the form a line of perforations 21 is provided across each end so that while the adjacent ends of the blanks are heldin place yet the top one may be readily removed by tearing through the perforations without disturbing the others." This form may be applied to seats now in use or the seat proper 1 may be of a'malleable casting of greatly less cost, and may or may not be provided with a pad or cushion l, as shown in Figs. 10 and 11.

What I claim is:

1. A sanitary seat protector for closets comprising a plurality of sanitary blanks one above the other arranged in sections on each side of the center line of the seat, each section having a line of transverse perforations across each end, the adjacent end portions of the sections adapted to be firmly ongaged and held in place upon the upper surface of the seat but allow of the removal of' engaged and held in place upon the upper surface of the seat'but allow of a removal. of the main section by tearing through the line of perforations at each end thereof, and each blank having a projection extending from the middle of the outer side of the blank at an angle to the center line of the seat adapted to be engaged by resilient means to normally hold said main portions of the protector in place on each side of the seat.

3. As an article of manufacture a blank of sanitary material for protecting closet seats of similar contour to the seat which when in place will terminate short of the center line of the closet at each end, the adjacent ends of said blank provided with a cut out portion between the inner and outer edges of each blank adapted to sur round a means for securing the blanks to the top of the seat.

4. As an article of manufacture a blank of sanitary material for protecting closet seats of similar contour to the seat which when in place will terminate short of the center line of the seat at each end, and having a line of perforations parallel to and in proximity to each end.

5. As an article of nutnufacture a blank of sanitary material for protecting closet seats of similar contour to the seat which when'in place will terminate short of the center line of the seat at each end, the adjacent end of each blank provided with a cut out portion between the inner and outer edges thereof adapted to surround a means for securing the blanks to the top of the seat, and having a projection extending from the middle of the-outer side of the blank at right angles to the center line of the seat adapted to be engaged by a means for securing each blank to the side of the seat.
