To all whom it may concer'n:
Be it known that l, Fnonnn T. MUsso, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bowman, in the county of Placer, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stopper-Removers.
and Sealing-Gaps; and I do declare the following to be a clear, full, and exact descriptionof the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the characters of reference marked thereon, which form a partof this application.
This invention relates to improvements in signed.
These objects, I accomplish by means of such structure and relative arrangement of the parts as will appear by a perusal of the following specification and claims.

Referring now more particularly to the characters of reference on the drawings, the
' numeral 1 designates the bottle having the usual neck 2.
The numeral 3 designates a stop-per of rubber. or cork or other suitable material projecting through which is a wire 4 provided with a small vitrified disk 5 on its lower end which rests against the underside of the stopper 3. Said wire at is provided at its upper end with a finger ring 6. By pulling the ring 6 this will permit the cork to be extracted readily and without damaging the cork and when not in use this ring may be bent down flat on top of the bottle.
Disposed around the wire 4 and between the-stopper 3 and the ring Gls a sealing cap 7 provided with a flange 8 adapted to -fit around a projecting flange 9 on the bottle. The flange 8 is provided with a pair of downwardly projecting arms 10 provided in their lower ends with holes 11. In practice when the bottle is filled and the stopper 3 inserted these holes 11 register with recesses 12 in a ring in the neck of the bottle and then glass cement or other suitable sealing means is filled into the holes 11 and the recesses 12 thus securing the sealing cap into the bottle. This sealing cap is made of any brittle material such as porcelain or other similar material and hence when it is desired to unseal the bottle, the members 10 are tapped gently until they break thus breaking the seal aind permitting the stop per and seal to be-withdrawn by pulling'on the ring 6 leaving part of the sealing cap connected to the bottle and thus preventing another cap to be put on the same bottle. This structure will aid in the prevention and detection of spuriously refilled bottles.
Fig. 3 shows a modified form of the sealing cap which is provided with a cap 13 and arms 14 such arms bein provided with a surrounding ring 15 having holes 16 to receive cement.
This form would be used with bottles having straightnecks and not thereof. In the structure shown in this Fig. 4, a thin cork can be used with this form of cap in which case no cork extractor need be used.
While this device is primarily intended as a combination of stopper remover and sealing cap, yet for some purposes it may be so changed as to be used only as a stopper remover or as a sealing cap.
From the foregoing description it will be readily seen that l have produced such a device as substantially fulfils the objects of the invention as set forth herein.
While this specification sets forth in detail the present and preferred construction of the, device, still in practice such deviations from such detail may be resorted to as said recesses in, said bottle as described.
