To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN C. MCLEOD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in the. county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Medicament- Holders, of which the following isa specification. i
This invention relates to improvements in means for medicating the head, and the object of the invention is to provide a receptacle for retaining and dispensing a medicinal preparation which may be worn within the hat of a wearer.
Another object of the invention is to provide a receptacle for containing and dispensing a medicinal preparation which may be secured to a'hat in such manner that the preparation will be dispensed by means of air passing through the hat, preparation, and container so that it will be held confined to the space around the head by means of the hat.
With the above and other objects in view I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which- I Figure 1 is a top plan View of my improved receptacle, Fig. 2 is a bottom plan view of the cover therefor, Fig. 3 is a lonvgitudinal sectional view through my device as attached to a hat crown, and Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a hat to which my device is secured.
Like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the specification and in the several views in the drawings in which- 1 indicates a container having a bottom 2.provided with a series of perforations 3.
4 is a cover for the container 1, said cover being provided with an annular flange 5 set in from the edge 6 thereof against which the upper edge 7 ofthe container is adapted to tightly bind, whereby it will be held to the said cover by friction. The cover 4 is secured to the crown 8 of the hat 9 by means of rivet eyelets 10 having passages '11 through thecenter thereof, these eyelets being adapted to pass through openings in the cover 4 and openings'in the crown of the hat 9 and rivet the cover to the hat.
Any proper medicinal preparation may be contained in the receptacle 4 and air passing through the evelets 10 into the receptacle and through the preparation and in injury to the head of a wearer if it should be so located in the hat that it will possibly contact the head.
Having now described my invention, what I claim'and desire to secure by Letters Pat- 'ent is:
l. A device for holding medicinal preparations consisting of a receptacle having a perforated bottom and a cover having passages for air into said receptacle, said passages consisting of eyelets adapted to hold said cover to the crown of a hat.
2. Adevice for holding medicinal preparations consisting of a receptacle having a perforated bottom, a cover having passages for air into said receptacle, said passages consisting of eyelets adapted to hold said cover to the crown of a hat, said cover being of a non-flexible material and having a.flange thereon adapted to engage said receptacle. A device for holding medicinal preparations consisting of a receptacle having a perforated bottom, a cover having passages for air into said receptacle, said passages consisting of eyelets adapted to hold said cover to the crown of a hat,said cover being of a nohflexible material and having a flange thereon adapted toengage said reflexible material.
4.
