Be it'known that 1, Don LEE Arrcnnson, a citizen .of the United States, residing at Burtonville, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ma land, have invented cernew and uscil Improvements in Milliners Work-Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention relates to mill'mers work holders designed to su rt hats while being trimmed, has for its Ject a foldable device which can be readily carried in a suitable pach'ng case, and when assembled can be adjusted into various positions for the convenience of the milliner or trimmer.

The invention consists in certain improvements on the holder embodied in my patent of the United States, granted June 18th, 1912 and numbered 1,030,149,, which will be fully disclosed in the following specification and claims.'

In the accompanying drawings, which form part of this spec1fication:-Figure 1 is a perspective showing the holder in vertical position. Reference being bad to the drawings and the designating characters thereon, the nunieral 1 indicates a. tubular standard or column to which the feet 2 are detachably secured by a split clamp 3 provided with a thumb screw, and at the upper end of the .7 column is a like 'clamp- 5 provided with a "thumb screw' 6. Vertically adjustable in said column is a rod 7, secured inany desired position within the range of the rod by the clamp 5, so that the hat or work on the holder may be placed in the most advantageous position for the artist to trim thevhat.

On the rod 12 are spring clamps 19, 19 vertically adjustable on said rod to provide for bats of difi'erent heights of crown or g body, and on said clamps are vertically and laterally'adjustable radial rods 20, 20' secured by the bolts 21, 21' and'nuts 22, 22' and an annular clamping member 23, 23', through which members and the bolts, the 5 rods 20, 20' pass" and are secured in position by the nuts 22, 22 which also compress the arms of the spring-clamps 1.9, 19' and secure them in position on the rod 12.

' On the outer end of the rods 20, 20 are brim supporting members 25 25 provided with a plurality of perforations 26, to receive pins stuck through the brim into the .members to secure the brim for shaping as may be desired. 26 indicates a vertically adjustable duplex clamp, on which are vertically and laterally adjustable rods 27-, 27 having at their ends curved members 28, for engaging the interior of the hat, and these members are also provided with perforations 24 for the insertion of pins through the body of the hat to secure the hatagainst being moved and also to facilitate the placing of the trim mings until they can be properly secured by stitching with thread. The rods 27, 27 extend through bolts 29, 29' and annular no clamping members 30, 30' respectively and are secured in any desired position.

The device as shown and described is subject to almost universal adjustments, whereby the artist can place a hat in any position required for trimnn'ng and to relieve'her of fatigue due to remaining in one position, and by these adjustments the hat may be illverted or otherwise positioned over the lap of the artist in sitting posture This lat er adjustment is facilitated by a supplemental rod 34 shown in Fig. 5, which is inserted in the column 1 and is vertically and axially adjustable therein and secured by the clamp 5. The rod is provided with a tubular bearmg ring 36, compressible by a. thumb-bolt 37. The rod 7, is insertible in the bearing 35, and adiustable laterallv through the medium of the clamping ring 36 and bolt 37, and the rod 34 is axially adjust-able to bring the' work into such position as may be most desirable.

The structure is capable of being sepacase and carried by hand.

Having thus fully described my invention,

1. 3. A niilliners work-holder comprising a tubular rod, hat-brim and body supporting members adjustable on said rod, a revoluble crown support vertically adjustable in said tubular rod, and a clamping member for securing the crown support in position.

4. A milliners work-holder comprising a tubular standard, a rod adjustably supported therein and provided with a bearing at its upper end, a rod adjustably supported in said bearing at a right angle' to its supporting rod, and a hat holder supported on the latter rod and provided with means for placing a hat in various positions out of alinement with the standard.
