Letters Patent No. 105,004, dated July 5, 1870.
IMPROVED CHAIN-LINK.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part 0! the same To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that T, VVLLLARD C. SHORT, of Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented an improved Chain-Link; and do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in connecting the two curved ends used to form alink, by means of tubes whose calibre is-about the same as the gauge of the wire used to form the bends.
To enable those skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction.
:The drawings represent a chain formed of these links, one of them being shown in section, where the two curved ends A and'A formed of solid wire are connected to each.other by the parallel tubes B and 'B, the eurved'ends being inserted and secured within 'ends A and A, and the connecting-tubes B and B, fastened to each other, substantially as described.
