To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Henna? J. Fons, a citizen of the United States, residing at Faribault, in the county of Rice and State of Minnesota, haveinvented a new and useful Furniture-Clamp; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to a new and useful improved clamp, designed for use in constructing and putting up furniture and other analogous purposes.

It is the principal object of the invention to provide a device of this nature, in which improved, desirable and practical features of construction are involved.

The principal feature of the construction is the provision of metallic band to receive portions of an. article of furniture, o one or more boards while being glued or aonered together, two sides of which band are provided with elongated notched openings to receive a pin, which passes through an elongated slot of awedged block, which, when the pin is held'in position by any one of the'notches of each of the slots of the band, is adapted to be forced against the boards or furniture pieces, to hold the boards together, until the glue thorou hly dries.

The invention comprises 'urther features .and combination of parts,-as hereinafter set forth,'shown in the drawings and claimed.

As -to the accompanying drawings 1, 2 and 3 designate three boards or furniture pieces,.adapted to be'.-clamped together by the improved clamp. Surrounding the boards is a metallic clamping loop 4, the sides of. which are provided with slots 5. These slots are oppos1tely arranged, in order also passes through slots 7 of the metallic straps 8, the ends ofwhich are underbent to engage the sides of the clamp 4, so as to guide the straps which bent on the clamp. The slots 7 of the straps extend at right angles to the slots 5, so that when the pin 6 is adjusted at the desired location, the same may be disposed in any two registering notches 10 of the slots The pin 6 extends through a slot 11 of the wedge block or clamp 12. The ends of the wedge block or clamp 12 are provided with wear plates 13 and 1 1., The wear plate 1 1 is provided with angled ends 15 to extend upon the sides or edges of the wedged block or clamp 12, as shown clearly in Fig. 1. The angled ends of the plate 14 are bent upon themselves as shown at 16, portions are embedded in. the wedged block or clamp 12. A washer 17 is mounted upon the pin 6, and a dowel pin pin 6, to hold the same in position.

In clamping several boards or furniture 1 pieces together, the glue or other adhesive material is arranged on the adjacent portions of the board, and then they are placed in the clamp as shown in Fig. 1, after which the pin is arranged at the desired location in the slots and in any two registering notches, and subsequently the wedged block or clamp is forced in position as shown in Fig. 1.

From the foregoing it will be noted there has been devised an eflicient and desirable furniture clamp, and one which has been found practical.

The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and useful is 1. In combination, an elongated sheet metal looped band, the sides of which are provided with elongated slots, one edge of each slot being notched, guide straps guided on the sides of the band and provided with slots extending at right angles to the first slots, a pin extending through the slots of the band and the straps and adapted to engage any two opposite notches, a wedge clamping block having a slot through which the pin extends, and adapted for clamping material between it and one end of the band.
