citizen of the United *States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county. of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Distributor for. Automobile Engine- Starters, of which the followingis a specification. y i I The object of myin'v-entionis to produce in compact form-an automatic distributer for insertion between a multiplicity of'cyl- 'inders of an automobile engine and a manually manipulable pump by means of which a preliminary charge ofexplosive mixture "may be injected into that one (or more). of

Thereupon the necessary sparks may be supplied to produce an explosion within the cylinder in which compression has been produced and the forward movement of the engine will immediately produce compression in the other cylinder to which the charge of fuel has been delivered through my distributer so as to be ready for tiring as the piston in that cylinder passes the dead center.
In view of the fact that some objection might be raised to the possible noise of constant reciprocation ot' the-valves the pet cocks 14- have been provided and these petcocks would be normally held closed so that there would be no communication between the several cylinders and my distributor. lVhen the engine is allowed to stop, however, the operator would then open the several pet cocks, whereupon the pressures within the cylinders would serve to automatically shift the balls 25 to proper selective position.
It will be noticed that the apparatus which I have produced is exceedingly simpie to manufacture and that ordinary commercial balls may-be used for the valves although it is to be understood that I have merely selected this type of valve as one of a number of forms which might be used in which the valve can be shifted from one seat to another to accomplish the purpose.
I claim as my invention:
1. An automobile starter distributor comprising a main body having a passage therein with two de 'iending discharge ends, and also having a fuel supply )assage communicating with the middle of said passage, a
in with twodepending discharge ends, and' also having a fuel simply passage communicating with the middle of said passage, a pair of inwardly presented valve seats arranged at the opposite ends of said first mentioned passage, and a valve mounted within said first. mentioned passage and shittable into position upon either of said seats to thereby establish connection between the supply passage and the other of said seats, whereby back pressure at either discharge end of said first mentioned passage will serve to propel thevalve in said passage to the opposite seat.
