that in the act of unlocking, a printed or written message may be turned into view beneath the eye of the addressee or operator. In the drawings: Figure 1' is a front view of my new card, in locked relation; Fig. 2 the same, unlocked, inner view; Fig. 3 15 a View of the locking disk; Fig. 4 is a rear view of art of Fig. 1; and Fig. 5 is an edge view of ig.1.
As shown'in'the drawings, my new card consists essentially of two parts A and B,
hinged'together at one ed' e 0:, so that the two parts may be fold together. The front sheet A has an opening or sight, a and may if desired have additional sights,
as a. Interposed between the two parts A and B, and pivotally connected to the front sheet A, at d by an eyelet or the like, is a revoluble member D,- having a tongue .11, preferably integral therewith, the twosides of which are respectively parts of concentric circles about the pivot d. In the other member B, of the card, are two slits,'forming between them a bar 6, which lies across the path of the locking member (1 as the member D is rotated, so that, by slipping the point or the free end of the member d under ar 6 and rotating the art D, the two parts A and B may be secure y locked together.
It will be obvious that the side of the part D, which is o posed to the part A, will be visible throng t e mem s-awa ns,
in the part A, and the part D may bear printed orwritten matter to be exposed as D is revolved. In the drawings I have shown one application, in which, when the card is locked, for mailing, the front shows no message, but as D is rotated to unlock the card, the message will be discovered (see Fig. 1).
In the preferred "form, shown in the drawings, the locking member is formed as a disk and is secured to the card at such a position that its lower edge projects, so that the disk may be turned by taking hold of the lower, projecting ed e.
.It will be -o vious that the part D may be secured to the rear member and the bar b, secured to the front member, if desired.
I claim 1. The folding card above described, comprising a front and a rear member, a locking member having display matter thereon, pivotally secured between the front and rear members and .a bar upon the member to which the locking member is not secured, to
engage the locking member, said front member being apertured to disclose the display -matter when the locking member is revolved,
all combined and operating substantially as described.
2. The locking device above described,
comprising front and rear members; a lock-
