IMPROVED LEMON-SQUEEZER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making; part of Vthe same.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES L. JENSEN, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in LemcinSqueezers and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification.
My invention relates to the best means of inserting a lemon-squeezer in its handles, and consists in forming an annular ange on the cup, but below the top thereof, placing it upon the open shoulder of the handle, and detachably fastening thereon an independent annular ring flush with the top.
Figure 1 represents a. sectional elevation of alemonsqreezer constructed according to my improvements, an(
Figure 2 is a plan of the handle, to which the bowl Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts. A
I make the bowls A with a horizontal flange, B, on the outside, near the top, and provide an annular recessV in the face of the handles C, to which they are to he' attached. `rlhis recess is deeper than the thickness ot the rim B, and it is widened on the plane of the top ot' the said rim when resting in the bottom. In this widened part a ringAV of wood, D, is secured by screws E fitting snugly-between the tpp of the cup and the wall of the recess, and upon the top ot' the rim B. v
This. arrangement makes a very simple, cheap, and efficient fastening, and is applicable for securingthe said-cups into wood or metal for any other purpose.
Having thus described my invention,
- I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The annular ange B, below the top of the cup, and the open circular recess in handle, combined with the independent annular ring D, detachably fastened thereto, as and for the purpose described.
'lhe above specification of my invention signed by me this 25th day of April, 1870.
- `JAMES L. JEJSEN.
