My inventlon consists in certain details,
`in the construction, arrangement and combination of the various parts oi the device., whereby the objects contemplated are attained, ashereinefter more fully set forth, pointed out in kmy claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

'In the drawings, the numeral 11 indicates the sides of the sheet metal body and 12 the strips :for conceolinmfjr the joints.' The lower portionv oi the body isleft open and there is a considerable space between the main trame 10 and the lower sides oi the body. Furthermore, in order to provide Ator concealing the joint between tho front legs and the sheet metal body the lower portion of the sheet metal body isi-extended downwardly to a distance 'below the wooden 'frame member 10, as clearly shown in F ig. 1. In addition to this and for the purpose of providing a tight joint between the front logs und the body the sides of the sheet metal body portion ot the points indicated by the numeral 13 in 'Figi'. 2 are preferably urranged on curves concentric with the open- .ing in the wooden body for the steering stem, the purpose oi' which will hereinafter appear.
The reference numeral 14 indicates the rear axle on which the rear supportingr wheels 15 are mounted. This rear axle is connected to the main frnme member l() by means of two braces lo, the upper ends of which extend between the main frame member l()l and thc sides il of the sheet metal body and they are securely fixed to the main 'fr-.une in any ordipiiry ".iy. The lower ends ot said braces are connected to the i .-:le lll. The 'rr-ar legs oi the animal are pret-v erabiy mode oi wood, sheet metal or other desir-.dile material and are indicated by thc numeral 1T. Their upper ends extend lietween tho sheet metal body 1l and the main frame member l() und the outer portions ot' the log members are shaped to tit the contour ot the rear of the sheet metal body portion, as clem-ly shown in Fig. Q, so that the devicewhen completed presents the appearance of having `the sheet metul body portion and the legs made continuous. The lower ends of the legs are secured by brackets 18 to the rear axle;
`The reference numeral 19 indicates the front axle to which the steering wheel 2O is connected and said axle is provided with cranks 2l and pedals 22 et the ordinary kind. This axle is mounted in a metal forli 23 and at the top of the fork is a horizontally arranged cross head Q4. lrojectingf stra-ight upwardly from said cross head is the steering stem which is designed to project through the opening in the niain 'frame member l0. The upper surface of the cross head 2% is designed to rest against the lower surface of the main trarne member 10 and onthe top of the cross head 2d is a rounded bearing portion Q6 that engages the lower portion of the wooden farne member and thereby permits the cross head to t'reely rotate relative to the Woeden frame member. The stern 25 projects up through the Wooden frame member l0 and also through an opening providedfor it in the'top of the sheet metal body. Surrounding this opening in the sheet metal body is a fiat surface indicated in Fig. 1 by the numeral 27 to form a bearing on which the center oi the handle bar 2S may rest. This handle bar is detachably connected with the stein 25 by a Cotter pin 29'orin any ordinary Way.
The front legs 3() oi? the animal are secured to the outer surfaces of the foi-lr mennbers Q3 and they extend from a point below the cross head 2li dw'nu'ardly to any desired distance. At the upper portion ot the front legs 'the outer surfaces thereofl are preferably rounded to conform to ay circle concentric with the center olf the steering head so that as the steering head rotates the front legs will lit close to thcinteriorof the forward portion of thesheet metal body. As before stated the upper ends ot these legs are below the wooden Ytraine l() so that the legs will not at any time strike upon the wooden body. ln some instances: it is ldesirable to limit the rotary movement of the cross head 24 relative to the body andv 'tor this purpose l. have provided on the top ot the cross head two upwardly projecting lugs 3l designed to engage `the adjacent sides of the frame l() and thus limit the rotary move- 1 ment. of the cross head by harinat said lugs ,J i engage the sides thereof. Sonie ot' the greatadvantages of my invention are that the device maybe constructed "ery inexpensively; that it is extremely strong" and durable and that it may be made according to my invention in a. very neat and attractive torni. In addition to this it provides a limiting means to coact with the lugs 3l. The sheet metal body not only is designed to represent an/ animal such as a horse but 1t 1s shaped to furnish a convenient seat for the operator and it projects some distance beleny the Wooden trame 'member l0 ,to thereby conceal the connection hetweenthe, legs and braces gn and the niain lbody portion l0 which otherwise `would present. an objebtionable appearance. lThe entire steeringl fork, cross head and steering stein may/all be cast complete in a single piece Without expensive machine work and the steering stem may be detachably connected with the bddy to which it is held only by means oit ay single cotter pin 29.
