To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, PETER J. REINERT, a

citizen of the United States, residing at Detrait, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Doll-Carriages, of which the following is a specification. This invention relates to doll carriages, the object of the invention being to provide a toy carriage of this character which will be strong and durable in construction and which may be operated to furnish considerable amusement to the child.

In the drawing, forming a portion of this specification and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the carriage. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section therethrough. Fig. 3 is a section taken on line 5-5 of Fig. 2.

In the preferred form of the invention illustrated particularly in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings, the carriage comprises a body 1 which includes parallel side members 2,

each being identical in construction, and in the present instance, being formed to represent a horse, however, it will be understood that such side members may be of any ornamental design Which may be found most pleasing to the eye of a child. The said side members are connected with each other by transverse rods 3, and 4, the rod 3 having secured thereto the bottom 5 of a seat (3. The back 7 of the seat is secured to the bottom and to the brace rod .4 in any suitable well known manner. A supporting frame embodying spaced identically formed arched bars 8 are employed, and as shown, each is secured to one of the side members 2. Fastening devices 9 extend through the said arched bars and through the side members 2. The central portions of the arched bars are disposed immediately beneath the bottom of the seat and bear thereagainst to form a brace therefor. At the forward ends the said arched bars extend down-.

wardly below the plane of the sides 2 and the bars are connected with each other by an axle 9', the ends of which having mounted thereon. suitable supporting wheels 10. At the opposite ends, the arched bars extend downwardly and rearwardly below the plane of the sides 2 and they have fitted thereto the ends of a rear axle 11, the ends of the said axle being preferably reduced to] receive the supporting wheels 12 and the lower ends of the side members 13 of the handle 14, the said rear ends of the arched-bars being interposed between the wheels and the said side members 13 respectively, so as to hold the handle bars out of contact with the wheels. The arched bars are connected with the handle by suitable brace rods 15.

- I claim A toy carriage comprising a body member havin a seat, arched bars secured to the sides of t e body and h; ving intermediate portions bearing directly against the seat to brace the same, an axle mounted in the for wardends of the bars, an axle mounted in the opposite ends of the bars, ahandle mounted on the last named axle and separated from the wheels of the axle by the said rearwardly extending portions of the bars, and a brace connecting the handle bars with the said arched bars.
