Letters Patent No. 99,389, dated February 1, 1870.
IMPROVEMENT IN TOY PROPELLERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent a`nd making pax-t ox the same To all whom 'it may concern i Be it known that I, ARTHUR M. ALLEN, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Toy Propeller; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, in which drawing- Figure l represents a perspective view of this inrentioin' Figure 2 is a detached sectional View of the oblique joint between the front and hind wheels of the propeller, which forms the principal feature of this invention.

This invention relates to a toy propeller, which is provided with an oblique joint, in theconnection between its front and hind wheels, in such a` manner, that by turning the connection at its joint, the front wheel is thrown in an oblique position, and the propeller is caused to travel in a circle, toward the centre of which the front wheel is'inclined, thereby avoiding any liability to upset.
In the drawing- The letter A designates a toy propeller, which is made in the shapeof a velocipede, or in the shape of any other device, supported by two wheels, B, behind, and by one wheel C, in front.

If this oblique joint is applied to a toy velocipede, carrying a rider, the motion and position of' this`1ider, in running on a circular track, are somewhat similar to those ot' a riderturning a curve on a full-sized velocipede.
