IRONING-BOARD CABINET.

Be it known that we, ALBERT FRISKE and.

ERIK J. SCORE, citizens of the United States,

residing at Colfax, in the county of Richland and State of North Dakota, have in-: vented certain new and useful Improvements in Ironing-Board Cabinets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to ironing board cabinets and more particularly to a novel laundered, said table, when placed within the cabinet after use, being locked or retained therein by the ironing board which is movably mounted on the cabinet for that purpose.

Another object of the present invention resides in-the provision of an ironing board composed of sections preferably hinged together, and a novel means carried by one section of the ironing board for engagement with another section thereof to retain the sections in an operative position.

' ployed for supporting on the inner surface thereof a towel rack 3 and on the outer surface thereof a receptacle 4 which ma be used for a comb and brush or other articles, and a mirror 5, which is clearly shown in the drawings.

A table 6 is removably mounted in the cabinet 1 when not in use, having hingedly secured thereon a supporting leg 7 adjacent to one extremity of the table, while the opposite extremity thereof is rovided with a transverse groove 8 adapte to engage the supporting flange 9 eiteriorly secured to the 'side of the cabinet.

An ironing board is provided comprising the main body sections 11 and 11' and a fastening or mounting section 12, the latter-being provided with a slot 13 adapted to receive a pin or other member 14 carried by the cabinet. The inner terminal of the section 12 is adapted to slidably enga e in the groove 8 of the table to retain t e latter within the cabinet, said section being retained in its engaging position by a locking member 15 pivotally carried in a recess formed in the section 12. This locking member is adapted to engage the cabinet, said engaging portion being serrated, as at 16, and also provided with an extension or thumb piece 17, whereby the serrated portion may be disengaged from the cabinet. The thumb piece 17 extends outwardly beyond the section 12 within easy reach when the sections 11 and 11 are folded within the cabinet.

From the foregoing, it will be observed that the table 6 may be retained within the cabinet when not in use by the section 12 engaging in the roove 8 and the engagement of the locking member 15 with the cabinet.

Secured to the section 11' is the member 18 having its edge recessed for the reception of a terminal of the sliding plate 19 carried by the section 11 whereby the sections are locked from breaking at their joint. A leg or supporting member 20 is detachably connected to the ironing board to retain the latter in an operative position.

A yielding member or spring 21 is attached to'the inside of the cabinet for frictionally engaging the upper terminal of the table 6. When it is desired to remove the table the lower portion thereof is first removed, after which the spring 21 will'yield sufiiciently to permit the entire removal of said table.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

1. In combination, a support, a support ing table removably carried thereby, an ironing board comprising sections, one of said sections being movable into engagement with the supporting table for locking the latter on said support, and a latch member carried by the engaging section of the ironing board for engagement with said support to prevent the disengagement of said 15 section from said supporting table.

2. In combination, a cabinet, a supporting member mounted, therein, yieldable means engaging said member adjacent to one terminal of the latter, an ironing board movably mounted on said cabinet for engagement with the opposite terminal of said member, and means for locking the ironing board against movement.
