furniture for the home or office, which will hold in compact form all of the implements and polishes which it is desirable to have on hand for cleaning and polishing shoes. Another object is to provide a convenient shoe rest which may be folded down into the cabinet when not in use.

The full objects and advantages of my invention will appear in connection with the detailed description thereof and the novel features embodied in my inventive idea will be particularly pointed out in the claim.

Referringto the accompanying drawings which illustrate the application of my invention,

Figure 1 is a top plan view. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view on the line 22 of Fig. 1.

Referring to the drawings, 10, 12, ll and 16 designate the four sides of a box which is provided with a bottom 18. A cover 20 is attached to the side 16 by hinges 22. The cover when lifted is held extended in the position shown in Fig. 2 by a slotted supporting member 2a pivoted to the cover at 26 and within the slot of which works a stud 28 secured on the inner surface of the side 14 of the box. The cover may be seecured in closed position by a catch 30 and is provided with a handle 32 by means of which the cabinet may be carried. A block 34 is fastened to the upper portion of the side 16 and a shoe rest 36 having a depressed heel poftion 38 is hinged to the block 34 at 4:0. The free end of the shoe rest 36, when the shoe rest is in use, is supported by a member e2 hinged to the inner surface of the side 12 of the box by hinges 1 1 and when the member 42 is folded back into dotted line position the shoe rest will swing down into the box to permit the cover to' be closed. To the inside of the cover 20 are attached a plurality of spring steel clips 46 for holding boxes of polish. Two

48 and 50 extend across the box for holding bottles, brushes and polishes in place, and

hangers

52 and 54 are secured to the inside of thebox upon which to hang cloth polishers. Hooks 56 are also secured to the inside of the box for holding dau'lo brushes which may be provided with screw eyes on the ends of their handles so that these brushes may be hung upon the hooks. The sides 10 and 1-1- of the box may be provided with hand holes 58 or other means by which the cabinet may be lifted.

The operation and advantages of my in vention will be obvious from the foregoing description. When the cover is opened and the shoe rest is lifted into place and sup ported 'by the member 42 the shoe polishing operation may be conveniently and expeditiously performed since all of the implements and polishes are in a position which is readily accessible. The cover is held in extended position by the supporting member 24.- so that the boxes of polish are within easy reach.

I claim: I

A shoe shining cabinet comprising a box having a cover hinged to the rear side thereof, a shoe rest hinged to said rear side by a horizontally operating hinge, and a support for said shoe rest hinged to the front side of said box by a vertically operating hinge whereby'said shoe rest may be supported in horizontal position when the cover is open and may be swung down into the box to permit closing the cover.
