UNITED STATES P grENT OFFICE.
BABE'I'TE ALBERT, OF RIXDORF, GERMANY.
GAME APPARATUS.
To all whom it may concern:
' Be it known that I, BABETTE ALBERT, a subject of the King of Bavaria, residing at Rixdorf, in the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to game apparatus like lotto and similar games of the kind in which numbered disks are placed upon numbered cards. With games of this type of lmown construction the cards have a smooth surface and the numbers called are to be covered by numbered disks made of cardboard or wood or by small pieces of glass. It often happens that for some reason the disks or glass plates are displaced which not only disturbs the game but, if pieces of glass are used, frequently causes accidents.
The present invention has for its object to avoid all these inconveniences by printing the numbers on the cards on raised panels, the usual disks being replaced by capsules or the like.
In the accompanying drawings the improved game apparatus is shown.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a card with two numbers covered. Fig. 2 is a section on line A-B of Fig. 1. Figs. 3 and 4 show on a larger scale two different forms of construction of the capsule used for covering the numbers. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of a card with number panels of polygonal shape.
The improved lotto card a (Fig. 1) has the numbers printed on raised panels I; which are produced according to the material of the card either by embossing, by

milling or by casting. To cover the numbers, capsules cd are used which are made of transparent material such as celluloid or the like, said capsules consisting of a circular top plate with downwardly turned rim. The capsules 0 may have a central opening 6 (Fig. 8). This arrangement permits to easily see which numbers are still free. The capsules (Z (Fig. 4) are made of opaque material and the numbers are printed on said capsules either in black or in color. The rim of the capsules is less high than the rim of' the raised number-panels so that it is easy to remove the capsules from the panels.
The number panels may be of polygonal shape (Fig. 5) instead of circular shape as hereinbefore described. This shape of the number panels facilitates the manufacture of the cards whether the panels are raised or in form of cavities.
I claim An improved lotto board and counter comprising in combination a board, raised panels on said board on which the numbers are printed, and counters consisting of capsules composed of a circular top-plate and a downwardly turned rim, substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
BABETTE ALBERT.
