GAME-B OARD.
Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed March 26. 1906- Serial No. 308.008. l
Patented Jan. 28, 1908.
series of representations of ordinary playingcards, each card in the ordinary pack being suitably represented upon said board, and a series of pins projecting upwardly from the face of said board, one for each of said cards.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification; Figure 1 is a plan view of a game-board embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a detail section of the same.
In the drawings, 2 represents a board or plate formed of any desired material and of any suitable size. Marked by stamping, painting, or in any other suitable manner upon the face of the board, are a series of representations of playing-cards. If preferred these representations may be formed upon a sheet or sheets of paper secured by suitable means to the face of the board. 'The representations of the cards may be arranged in any preferred manner upon the board. I prefer however, to arrange these without any regular system, so that the cards are mixed up or shuflled. A pin 3 is secured to the board, so as to project from the face thereof either directly over or in close proximity to the face of each card representation.
I have shown in the drawing, the card representations arranged in vertical rows, the center row containing ten card representations, the rows at the right and. the left of the center containing nine, the next rows at right and left containing seven and the outer rows each containing five; but it will be obvious that these card representations may be arranged in any desired manner upon the face of the board.
In playing games with this board, it is intended that the board should be supported in any desired manner and upon any suitable support. It may be placed in an inclined, horizontal or vertical position. Each player will be provided with a certain number of rings of ap ropriate size and of suitable material and these rings willhpreferably, be differently colored for the di erent players. The players stand at a predetermined distance from the board and each player throws his rings towards the board and endeavors to have them fall over certain pins thereon. The value of the hand in any game of cards represented by the encircled pins of any player determines the standing of the player in the game. Any number of players may join in the game and more than one ring may encircle the same pin.
I do not confine myself to any particular means for securing the card representations upon the board or to any particular arrangement of such representations thereon, as the same may be varied in many particulars, without departing from my invention.
I claim as my invention:
1. The herein described game-board, having a series of representations of playingcards upon its face and a pin projecting from the face of the board for each of said representations.
2. A game-board comprising a board or plate having upon its face, a series of representations of playing-cards, with a pin projecting from the face of the board in the space occupied by each of said cards.
3. The herein described game-board comprising a suitable plate or board, having upon its face the representations of the fifty-two cards comprised in a deck of ordinary playing-cards and a pin projecting from the face of the board in the space occupied by each. of the said card representations.
4. The herein described game-board comprising a suitable plate or board having upon its face the representations of the fifty-two cards comprised in a deck of ordinary playing-cards, irregularly arranged, and a pin projecting from the face of the board in the space occupied by each of the said card representations.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this 20th day of March 1906.
