IMPRovEn BooK-REST.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the 4same To all whom. it may concern Nature mul Objects of the Invention.
The nature of my invention consists in combining with a revolving base a-book-rest, in such a manner that it maybe raised and lowered at pleasure, and set atany angle, as well as turned in any direction.
Drawing. Figure 1 represents my invention in perspective. Figure 2 represents my invention in elevation.
General Description.
The book-rest proper, A, is made as shown, or in any desirable form and style.
The link E is hinged at its upper end to the lower i part of the book-rest, as shown at P, and at its lower end to t-he base K, as shown at N.
. The angle that the link E makes with the bookrest A is governed by the brace B, which is lhinged to the lbase of the book-rest A at C, while the lower end is hinged to a sliding piece D, tig. 2. This sliding piece D operates in a groove with snicient fric tion to keep it at any desirable position. l
The angle that the link E makes with the base is governed by the link F, which is hinged at its upper end to the link E, as shown, and is hinged to the sliding block (5r, which slides in a groove made in the base K.
The base K 'swivels on the lower base L, and is held by the pin M.
Vhat I claim as my invention is- The combination aud arrangement of the rest A with thelinks B E F, the slides D and G, and the revolving base K, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
