Be it known that we, NATHANIEL J. JOHN- soN and ROBERT L. STALAUs, citizens of the United States, residing at Atwood, in t-he county of Hughes and State of Oklahoma, have invented new and useful Improvements in Churns, of which the following is a speci` which m ay be raised and lowered on its support so as to accommodate the device to receptacles of varying capacity and which is also pivoted upon its support so that it may be thrown out of operative position for the removal of the dasher from the receptacle and the removal of the receptacle from the support.
Further objects of the invention will appear as the following specific description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this application, and iu whichz Figure 1 is a side elevation. Fig. 2 is a top plan view with the receptacle removed and the operating mechanism turned downwardly out of the way. Fig. 3 is an elevation of the dasher and its associated parts removed. from the receptacle and with parts broken away.
Referring more particularly to the drawing. 1 represents a stool or other suitable raised support upon which is removably mounted a receptacle 2 in which the churning is'done. The stool or support is pro vided with a swiveled eye or collar 3 in which is mounted a tubular standard 4 which carries a set screw 5 at its upper end. This standard 4 is adapted to receive the long leg 6 of a yoke frame 7 which carries an operating mechanism and is provided with a bridge piece 8 which connects the lower end of the short leg 9 of the frame with an intermediate portion of the long leg 6 and gives bearing to a spiral shaft 10, the upper end of the shaft being journaled in the frame. The lower end of the shaft is made round and projects through the bridge piece where it is provided with a socket 11 adapted to receive the squared upper end of the dasher shaft 12. A lever 13 having a removable operating handle 14 is pivoted kto the short leg 9 of the frame 7 and carries a slida'bly mounted collar 15 apertured to fit the spiral shaft 10 and is held from turning in the leverN in any suitable manner. The long legl 6 of the lever is slightly offset beyond its connection with the bridge piece 8 so as to permit the use of a receptacle with bulged sides and carries a set screw 6 which holds the reduced rod to enter the standard 4.
The dasher shaft 12 is made in two parts 16 and 17, the latter being hollow and provided with a set screw 18 to receive the reduced end 19 of the section 16. The section 16 is provided with dasher blades 20 and section 17 is provided with dasher blades 21 which are separated a greater distance from the shaft than the dasher blades 20, so as to permit the dasher blades 2O to lie between the dasher blades 21 when the parts are in the position shown. The lower end of the section 17 has swiveled thereto a stepping piece 22 which supports the dasher in the receptacle.
In the operation of the device the receptacle is placed upon the stool or support 1 and the frame 7 has its long leg adjusted in the standard 4 until the bridge piece 8, which acts as a cover, rests upon the receptacle. The setscrews 6 and 5 are then clamped in position and the receptacle thus clamped between the frame and the support. If a larger receptacle is desired, the long leg G or the rod carried thereby is adjusted in the standardfl to accommodate the saine. The sections of the dasher are also adjusted apart to accommodate the same to the larger receptacle and the set screw 1S tightened.
I-Iavin g thus described the invention, what we claim as new is 1. A churn comprising a body, a dasher rod journaled in the body, dashers carried by said rod, a second dasher rod having adjustable connection with the first dasher rod, a. dasher carried by said second dasher rod and movable in the path independent of the first dashers.
2. A churn comprising a body, a support having adjustable connect-ion with said body and adapted to be swung downwardly therefrom, a frame adjustable on said first support, and dasher operating means carried by the frame, said frame being adapted to be moved into an inoperative posit-ion when said first support is swung downwardly.

3. A churn comprising a body, a dasher shaft movable in the body and comprising adjustable telescopic sections, a set screw carried by one of the sections and adapted `to engage the other of said sections, and a plurality of dashers carried by the shaft and movable in overlapping parallel paths.
4. In a" device of the class described, a support, a churn body mounted on the support, a tubular standard swiveled upon the Support and spaced from said churn body and adapted to be swung downwardly therefrom.
