To all whom t may concern:
13e it known that I, JESSE A. WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Seaford, in the county of Sussex and State of Delaware,r have invented new and useful Improvements in Signaling Devices,l of which the following is a specification.
rlhis invention relates to fog horn signals, and has particular reference to the mechanism employed for rotating the horn to facilitate signaling.
whereby the horn preferably mounted upon the pilot house can be rotated from within the latter, and locked in any of its adjusted positions.
rIhe nature and advantages of the invention will be readily apparent when the following description is read in connection with the accompanying drawings, the invention residing in the construction and arrangement of parts as claimed.
In the drawings forming part of this specification like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views and wherein Figurev 1 is a side elevation.

Referring more particularly to the drawings in detail 10 indicates the pilot house upon the roof 11 of which is secured the legs 12 which latter supports a base plate 13. Mounted upon the base 13 is a turn table 14 from which rises the standard 15 for supporting the signal horn 16.
Secured to the roof 11 are plates17 having alined hollow bosses 18 in which is journaled a vertically disposed hollow shaft 19, which latter is also journaled in a sleeve 20 depending from the base 13,through which the shaft extends and is connected with the turn table 14. The opposite end of the shaft projects an appreciable distance within the pilot house, and has associated therewith a handle 21 by means of which the shaft can be rotated in opposite directions, whereupon the turn table 14 is operated to move the horn 16 into any predetermined position. Leading from any suitable source are current wires 22 which latter extend up through the hollow shaft 19 and are connected to the motor 23 of the signal.

this position of parts, the turn table can be rality of openings 28 for the reception of` the locking pin 26, when the opening in the j turn table is brought into registry with the particular opening in the base 13, by reason of which construction and arrangement it is manifest that the signal can be held in any of its adjusted positions. Secured to the lever 25 is one terminal of a retractile spring 30, the opposite end of the spring being connected to the support 15, the spring operating to normally maintain the locking pin in active position. Obviously this pin is released from its engagement with the base 13 against the action of the spring 30, whichlatter automatically lowers the pin into engagement with the desired opening in the base upon release of the bar 24.
It is believed that from the foregoing description the advantages of the invention will be readily apparent, however I desire to have it understood that what is herein shown is merely illustrative of one embodiment of the invention, to which I do not limit myself, and that such changes in the construction and arrangement of parts may be resorted to when desired as fall within the scopeo'f what is claimed.
