WINDOW FRAME ATTACHMENT.
APPLICATION FILED AUG. 17, 1911.

2 BHEETSSHEET z.
. ATTACHMENT.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANNIE M. HILLMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Westhofl', in the county of Dewitt, State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window-Frame Attachments; and I do hereby declare the following to 'be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, suchas will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in window frame attachments.
An object of this invention is the provision of a pair of bars which may be secured to a window frame, and support adjustably thereon a shade roller of any customary design;
A further object of this invention is the provision of a pair of bars suitably connected at their opposite ends and adapted to be ap plied to a window frame, the said bars being of such construction that they will support a pair of roller brackets and retain the same against any undesired displacement.
A still further object of this invention is to improve and simplify devices of this character rendering them comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, reliable and eflicient in use and readily operated.
With the above and other objects in view this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formations, combinations and arrangements of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a Window frame with my attachment applied thereto. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1. Fig. t is a similar view taken on the line 44 of Fig. 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawings by similar characters of reference, throughout the-several views, the numeral 5 designates generally a window frame consisting of the customary vertical side bars 6 connected at their opposite ends by the upper and lower rails 7 and 8. A pair of spaced parallel side bars 9 and 10-are secured to the side bars 6 upon opposite sides of the window opening and are formed at their adjacent Specification of Letters Patent. Patented July 9, 1912. Application filed august rr, 1011. Serial No. 044,500. I i
I 6 of the window a T shaped guide opening 12, in which is slidably located upon opposite sides of the window a vertically mov- 13 have projecting laterally therefrom a pair wardly between the Iplates 9 and 10, and support thereon a ro ler 15, upon which is wound a curtain .16. These plates 13 are provided in a lower terminal with thread apertures 17 through which are extended the threaded shanks of thumb screws 18, adapted to contact with the side member 6 of the window fmme, and retain the plates 13 in their various adjustable positions, The
zontal bar 19 to which may be secured a window curtain for longitudinal movement with respect to the window opening.
plates 9 and 10, and extends through the guide slots 11 in spaced relation from the side members of the window frame as clearly indicated in Fig. 2 of the drawings, and as designated by the numeral 21. A pair of brackets 22 each of which is provided with a roller supporter 23 and a vertical extenof the window by the plates -9 and 10, bar 20, and side members 6, and is held against any undesired lateral displacement by its engagement with the said plates 9 and 10, while the bar 20 accordingly retains the same in spring engagement with the side members 6, which obviously prevents their undesired displacement. The bar 25 which connects the lower ends of the plates 10 is preferably formed in any design which will extend above the lower side of the frame which will serve to prevent a child from falling out of the window. This bar however, will be made plain as desired.
From the foregoing disclosure taken in connection with-the accompanying drawings it will be manifest that'a window frame attachment is provided for which will fulfil all the necessary-requirements of such devices.
Having thus fully described this invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is:
1. The combination with a window frame, of a pair of spaced bars, secured to the opposite sides thereof, bars connecting the said space bars, plates slidable between the spaced bars, shade roller brackets secured to the able plate 13. The upper ends of said plates of roller brackets 14, which extend outi roller brackets 14 are connected. by a hori- Bar 20 connects the upper ends of the sion 24, is extended in the space at each side sliding plates, and brackets located between the spaced bars, and en aging one 0 said connecting bars substantially, purpose set forth.
2. The combination in devices such as described with the opposite sides of a window frame, a pair of bars secured to each side member of the said frame, and extended in spaced parallel relation to each other, bars being provided at their adjacent outer edges with ribs producingguide spaces between said bars, and side members of the window'frame, plates slidable between the bars, brackets supported upon the plates,
as and for the said means for retaining the plates in their ad' adjacent connecting bars, as and for the purpose set forth. 1
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature, in presence of two witnesses.
. ANNIE M. HILLMAN. Witnesses: A. F. MCFARLAND, F. J. GOEHRING.
