- [NVE/VTOR Affomey .won'rn, a citizen of the United States. resid- NllTED @llATEfi iPATEl lZl- ELMER n. WOQDWORTH, on mcnmonn, vii-Emma.
Elfifitfi Application fileti January 24 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Emma E. W001)- ing at Richmond, in the county of Henrico and State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Curtam-Fixtures; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact cleseriptien ot' the invention; such as will enable others skilled in the art. to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and ti rures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in adjustable brackets for supporting curtain shade poles and comprises a simple and el'lieient device of this nature. having various details of construction and combinations and arraiuzenients of parts which will be hereinafter 'i'ully described. shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
l illustrate my invention in the aeeompartying drawings, in which l ie'ure 1 is a perspective view showing the application of my invention to the frame ot a window. Fig. 2 is a sectional view longitudinall through the adjustable bracket. and l igs. Iland l are detail views ol' the two bracket sections.
llet'erence now being had to the details ol the drawings by letter. A designates one of the ln' u'licl members and ii the other. each of which is provided with an angled end with spurs l) prt-ijeetinp; therefrom. Said ln'achet member has a bracket, arm A projecting thert'rom. having apertures l) therein for the reception of the spindle ends of shade rollers, and also lugs l which are apertured for the reception of the pins .ll of the dog I, which has a contracted end l. The bracket u'iember' ll has a series of slots Specification of Letters Patent.
CURTAIN-FIXTURE.
Patented July Q9, lgtlfio 1912. Serial no. 673,100.
l3 formed parallel to each other and spaced apart shown, and each slot is receive the contracted end of the dog I to hold the brackets in adjusted positions.
In adjusting the bracket plates, the spurs upon the upper plate are pushed down into the top of the casing, the contracted end of the doe inserted in one of the slots in the plate 13 and the spurs in the lower plate brought into contact with the under edge of the casing. after which a swinging movement of the lever l, the pintles oi which are dlll'lltllt l in the ears F, will cause the lower plate to be raised and its spurs will be drawn up into the lower edge of the casing.
lsv reason of the peculiar shape of the dog,
when the same is in the position shown in Figs. 1 and 2. with the inwardly bent portion directly underneath the pintles it will serve to hold the plates in locked position; it being" understood that the weight of the shade roll will be supported by the plate A.
What I claim to b ew is;-
An adjustable curtain pole supporting device comprising two bracket plates having spurred ends for engagement with the upper and lower edge of a casing of a window frame. one of said plates having a series of transverse slots therein. ln'aeket arms projeetiu i from the opposite edges of the other plate. a dog having pintles pivotally mounted in said braelce't arms. one end of the do e 'hein contracted and ada itedto eng a e one 5 a I of said slots and its shank portion with an inwardly bent portion adapted to contact with the tare ol the slotted plate at a loca tion substantially underneath the pivotal points of the dog. as set forth.
in testimony whereof l hereunto allix my signature in the n'esence of two witnesses. l lliltll llt E. .VUOIflVUR'lll.
