VENTILATING DEVICE.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, J AY LESLIE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Spring Valley, in the county of Fillmore and State of Minnesota, have invented new and useful Improvements in Ventilating Devices, of which the following is a specification.
An object of the invention is to provide a means for attachment between a window and the casing thereof and arranged to provide efficient ventilation for a room.
Among other features my invention embodies a plurality of casings, one slidable within the other and ventilating pipes to extend outwardly from the said casings, the said casings being adapted for disposal between the window and the casing thereof, so that one of the said pipes will extend into the room and the other said pipe will extend into the outside atmosphere so that a current of air will pass into the outside pipe, through the said casings and into the inside pipe or vice versa.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings constituting a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my device. Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing my device applied to a window with the window casing being broken away at one end to disclose the arrangement of my device relatively to the window. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional View of my-ventilating device.
Referring more particularly to the views I provide a plurality of casings 10, 11, the
casing 10 being slidable within the casing 11. Connected to the casing 10 and extending'downwardly therefrom is a pipe 12 and connected to the casing 11 and extending upwardly therefrom is a pipe 13, the pipe 12 being adapted to constitute an intake pipe and" the pipe 13 being adapted to constitute an outlet pipe relatively to the connected casings 10 and 11.

ed on the casings 10 and 11 respectively and the casings 10 and 11 being relatively slidable can be disposed between a window 14 and a casing 15 so that the casings 10 and 11 will extend along the entire edge of the window 14 and the lower edge of the casing 15 as shown in Fig. 2. When my device is applied to a window at the upper end thereof so that the pipe 12 will be disposed exteriorly of the room and the pipe 13 will extend into the room, fresh air will pass into the pipe 12, thence into the casings 10 and 11 and out of the pipe 13 into the room. By disposing a device similar to the one described at the lower end of the room. any bad air that is contained in the room can be exhausted therefrom and the same will be exhausted outwardly through my device similar to the manner in which fresh air is received into the room, except that the direction of the bad air through the casings will be opposite to the direction of the fresh air to be received in the room.
Having thus fully described the invention, what I claim as new, is
1. A ventilating device comprising a plurality of relatively telescopical tubular casings, a pipe revolubly mounted on one of the said casings and a second pipe revolubly mounted on the other casing. l
2. A ventilating device comprising a plurality of relatively telescopical tubular cas ings, a pipe revolubly mounted on one side of one of the casings and a second pipe mounted on the opposite side of the other casing.
