Operation.

tached to the end of the arin N, whereby the .board A is made to adjust itself to the thickness ot' the article -on the roller, and to press with more or less force upon it, according to the tension of the spring, and,

therefore, rubthe articles more or less hard, as may be required. .Y The roller may be made torrevolve continuously, or but. partially so. By turning it backward and forward the rubbing may be continued at one particular place that may require it, and thus the more speedily remove the dirt than if theroller should be coutinned in its revolution for a more general rubbing.
