To all whom, it may concern.
Be it known that I, TOBIAS HEnsHKowITz, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of the ronx, in the I county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Belt, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Among the principal objects which the It will be understood "that if desired e springs 13 may be substituted by a rubber .web or other form of elastic construction.
The strap sections 8, 8 are partly covpresent invention has in view are: to proered by pockets 15, 15. Each pocket 15 is vide a resilient belt for trousers mounted sewed to the upper and lower edge of upon the waistband thereof to maintain an the waistband of the trousers. The
sers at the front thereof from ,the strain means for said belt to increase the period of service of the belt; and to provide guide members for said belt said members being attached to said trousers.
One'embodiment of the present invention is disclosed in the structure illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in-which like characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which Figure 1 is a front view of a fragment of trousers provided with a belt and pocket structure constructed and arranged in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 2 is a side view of a belt constructed and ar-. ranged in accordance with the present invention; and Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section taken on the line 3-3 in Fig. 1.
As shown in the'accompanying drawings, the belt when constructed and .arranged in accordance with the present invention consists of two strap sections 8, 8. The exposed portions of the sections 8, 8 are preferably constructed from non-resilient mate rial, and are connected to each other by a fastener 9, which, as represented, isof the glove fastener type, and also by the hook l0 and bar eye 11. the sections 8 are sewed fastenings. A lower pocket is closed by a flap 16, which fastens trousers by means of the buttons 17.
It will be understood that the strap seethat the waistband of the garment is held in its correct position upon the body of the wearer under all normal conditions.
Having thus described my invention, what claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In combination with a belt, comprising a plurality of non-resilient strap sections; a plurality of shortresilient devices mounted on said strap sections to contract the length of said sections; ing a plurality of pocket structurespermanently mounted on garment to which are secured said strap sections said pocket structures covering said resilient sections and extending to the voutside thereof to avoid the pressure of the strap sections.
2. In combination with a belt, comprising a plurality of non-resilient strap sections; a plurality of springs mounted on said strap sections to gather a portion thereof to contract the length thereof; and a garment having a plurality of sections to cover said springs and to form openings for the guidance ofsaid strap sections. I i
In combination, trousers having a waistband provided with inner and outer openings formed in the front portion of the trousers. Intermediate the ends of the strap sections 8 are disposed resilient sections to said strap sections. The preferred construction, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3 of the drawings, is that wherein is employed the spiral springs 13. The
formed that the strap secto the leg of the sections united above and below .to form a hollow space, the outer vyall of said waistopenings in said waistband; and means pro- 10 band having openings adyacent the front of vided at the end of said belt sections for said trousers; a plurality of resilient helt uniting the same to form an exposed belt sections permanently secured to the waistsection.
