Be it known that I, Josemi E. MARTIN, a citizen of the United Statesof America, re siding in Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Globe-I'Iolders, of which the followingis a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement u'pon the construction of globe supports o r 'shade holders for gas and electric lamps and the like, forming` the subject of the patent of Anderson, 1ro. 905,12*?, dated December 1, 1908, the object ot.' my invention being to improve and simplify the construct-ion ot' the clasp for supporting the'globe or shade.

As described in said Anderson patent, this supporting clasp has an inner coil 111 and an outer coil 16, the outer coil being not a complete ring but two ends or arms bearing against the inner face let' the gallery. The inner coil 14. has a projecting fold 22, extending through a guide slot 25 in the gallery, while on the opposite side the outer coil 16 has folds 20 and 2l extending through long guide slots 23 and 24 respectively.
' My present .improvement relates particularly to the construction of 'the coil ends 1G. I impart to each of these coilends a, reverse bend so that each will have two bearing points m and y to bear against the inner face of the gallery 17 when the clasp is in the closed position shown in Fig. 2, to grasp and support the shade or globe.

together by the fingers of the hand, the clasp is expanded to permit the withdrawal or insertion of the neck ofthe shade or globe, as shown in Fig. 3, the ends y/ will still bear against the gallery near the ends of the slots 23 and 24.
I claim as my invention-4 1. In globe supports, the combination of a gallery With a self-centering spring clasp having an inner coil which grasps the neck of the shade or globe and an outer coil whose ends bearagainst the inside of the gallery, said outer coil ends having each two points ofbearing vagainst the gallery Vwhen grasping the shade or globe, substantially described.
2. In globe supports, the combination of a gallery with a self-centering spring clasp having an inner coil vwhich grasps the neck of the shadev or globe and an outer coil whose ends bear against the inside of the gallery, said outer coil ends each having reverse bends to afford two points of bearing against the gallery, substantially as described.
