HOUSEKEEPER S REMINDER.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, AVIS F. RAE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Housekeepers Reminders, of which the following is a speci- My invention relates to improvements in memorandum devices and has for one object to provide a so-called housekeepers reminder.

It is illustrated in one form in the accompanying drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a front elevation; Fig. 2, a section on the line 22 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3, a section on the line 33 of Fig. 1.

Like parts are indicated by like letters throughout the several figures.

The flat plate A which is preferably finished in white or some other light color, carries near either edge the parallel vertically disposed rods A in bearings made up of the alternate inwardly extending loop A and outwardly extending loop A. The arrows B which are rotatably mounted upon the rod A between the loop A are finished on one side in the same color as the body of the plate and on the other side in some strongly contrasting color such as black or red and are so arranged that when they point inwardly the contrasting color appears and when they point outwardly the light color appears. The surface of the plate between the two groups of arrows is divided into two sections and each section is divided into a series of compartments corresponding to the arrows and in each of these sections is printed or written the name of any article in common use such as salt, sugar, cofiee, etc.

When the housekeeper wishes to be reminded that, for instance, she needs a supply of any article, she will rotate the arrow about the rod until it points inwardly toward the desired article and when this is obtained or the matter attended to, she will rotate the arrow back until it points outwardly and the light colored side is exposed.

The device may be suspended in any suitable manner or in any suitable place by means of the hole 0 in the top of the plate Specification of Letters Patent.

and will provide, by means of contrasting color of the arrows when they are in an operative position, an index or reminder which cannot be easily overlooked.

It will be evident that while I have shown in my drawings an operative device, still many changes might be made in the size, shape and arrangement of parts without departing materially from the spirit of my in vention, and I wish, therefore, that my drawings be regarded as in a sense diagrammatic.

I claim:

1. A housekeepers reminder comprising a plate, an index thereon, a series of alternately oppositely bent loops struck from the material of the plate and adjacent one to the other, a straight rod mounted in said loops, a series of pointers bent around at their inner ends and thus pivotally mounted on such rod, each between a pair of loops and in opposition one to each item in the index.

2. A housekeepers reminder comprising a plate, an index thereon, a series of alternately oppositely bent loops struck from the material of the plate and adjacent one to the other, a straight rod mounted'in said loops, a series of pointers bent around at their inner ends and thus pivotally mounted on such rod, each between a pair of loops and in opposition one to each item in the index, the two sides of the different pointers differing in appearance.

3. A housekeepers reminder comprising a plate, an index thereon, a series of alternately oppositely bent loops struck from the material of the plate and adjacent one to the other, a straight rod mounted in said loops, a series of pointers bent around attheir inner ends and thus pivotally mounted on such rod, each between a pair of loops and in opposition one to each item in the index, the two sides of the different pointers differing in appearance, that side which is exposed when the pointer is turned toward the index difiering in appearance from the body of the plate.
