CIGAR-HOLDER AND ASH-RECEPTACLE.
Be it lmown that I, GEORGE O. LYNoH, of the city of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new'and useful Improvements in Cigar-Holders and 'Ash- Receptacles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact de scription of the invention, such as will en able others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the .same.
My invention contemplates an improved cigar holder and ash receptacle preferably made of brass and of ornamental design and adapted to constitute an article of furniture for use in houses, clubs, etc.
In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of an article constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a top plan view.
Referring to the drawing l designates a base or pedestal which is hollow at its central portion and equipped with a hinged door 2 opening downward as indicated in dotted lines. Surrounding its central hollow portion the base is weighted as by steel rings3 to insure a firm support.

The construction of the base is such that it will withstand considerable jar without falling over. Even if it should fall the ashes would not be spilled upon the floor or carpet.
I claim as my invention 1. As .an article of manufacture, a combined cigar holder and ash receptacle, comprising a hollow closed base orvpedestal adapted to rest upon a floor and having a door in its underside, a hollow post extending upward from said base to a point within reach of a user, and a cigar holder support ed 'by said post and having an aperture through which ashes, etc, may pass to said "post and pedestal.
2. As an article of manufacture, a combined cigar holder and ashreceptacle, com
prising a hollow closed base or pedestal weighted at its edge and equipped with a door in its under side, a hollow post extending from said base, a cigar holder supported by said post and having an aperture n line with said post, and a'match receptacle on said holder.
