Letters Patent No. 101,457, dated April 5, 1870.
IMPRQVEMENT IN PENCIL-HOLDERS The Schedule referred to inthese Letters Patent and making pant of the same.
To ail whom it may concern Beit known that I, ANNIE J. HALL, of the cityand county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented an Improved Pencil-Holdem and I d0 hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters marked thereon.
This invention consists of a rigid tube provided with fingers of peculiar construction, in combination with an elastic tube, as will be fully described.
HON* vided with hooks or stops, D, formed by turning over the ends of saidl fingers to prevent the escape of the ring A.
When the holdcr'is manufactured for the use of small children, the details are arranged as shown in fig. 1, with each alternate finger passing outside the ring A and the stops D, turning alternately inward and outward.
` For the use of larger children, the ring A is placed outside of all the fingers C, andthe stops 1) are turned outward.
