IMPROVEMENT IN BUTTER-WORKER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making im"t f '511 amehave invented a new and improved Butter-Worker;
and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable y others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification.
This invention relates to improvements in but-terworker, and consists in the combination with a guttered and rotating table and hand-lever, of an adjustable fulcrum-post for the latter, as hereinafter specified.
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my improved butter-worker, and
Figure 2 represents a sectional elevation oi' the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
Ais the table; the legs are so arranged that it stands lowest at the corner B, and it has gutters, C,
at the lowest sides, converging at the corner B, for
delivering the buttermilk thereat into any suitable receptacle. Y
D is the board to work the butter on; it is connected to the table A by the central axis E, so as to be rotated freely to t-nrn the butter as it is being worked. F is the working-lever, connected to the fulerumscrew G by two right-angled hooks engaging with two hooks oreyes, I, in the top of the screw. l
The two hooks, H, are arranged in a horizontal line, and prevent the lever from turning in the hands of the operator.
The object of the right-angled hooks is to hold the lever in an inclined position above the butter, when required, which they do by cramping in the eyes I, when the lever is raisedvso -far as to draw the elbows through the said eyes.
vThe screw Gr may be readily lowered for varying the height of the level', according to the quantity of butter under treatment, by screwing it up or down through the table and the nut K.
A rubber or other elastic washer, L, may .be placedl on the topof the table, to act as a cushion for the lever, to prevent jars, and make it work easy.
Having thus described my invention,
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- In combination with the guttered table A, rotating table D, and hand-lever F, the fulcrum-post G, adapted to be vertically adjusted by means of the screw-nut K,
for the purpose specified.
