To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, FERENozY LAJOS, a subject of the King of Hungary, residing at Easton, in the county of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in En velops, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to envelops, and the object of the invention is to provide an envelop that can be safely used transmitting matter by mail or express, the envelop being constructed whereby the contents thereof cannot be surreptitiously removed without detection.

I attain the above object by a construction that is simple, durable and inexpensive, and reference will now be had to the drawing wherein there is illustrated one embodiment of my invention, but it is to be understood that the construction thereof is susceptible to such changes as fall within the scope of the appended claim.

In the drawing :Figure 1 is a plan of the blank of an outer envelop. Fig. 2 is a plan of the blank of an inner envelop. Fig. 3 is a plan of the envelop sealed. Fig. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view of the envelop, and Fig. 5 is a cross sectional view of the same.

An envelop in accordance with this invention comprises practically one envelop within another, the outer envelop being made of strong and durable paper, paperoid or other material and the inner envelop of tissue paper or paper that is very easily torn.

The inner envelop comprises a rectangular body 1 having end flaps 2 adapted to be folded upon the dot and dash line 3, whereby the end flaps 2 will have the inner ends thereof over-lapped. One of the end flaps 2 is gummed or provided with adhesive material 4 whereby said flap can be moistened and secured to the other flap. The lower edge of the body 1 is provided with a bottom flap 5 adapted to be folded upon the dot and dash line 6. This bottom flap is gummed, as at 7 whereby it can be moistened and secured to the outer sides of the flaps 2. The upper edge of the body 1 has a sealing flap 8 adapted to be folded upon thedot and dash line 9, said sealing flap being gummed, as at 10 whereby it can be moistened and secured to the outer sides of the end flaps 2, after the epistle or matter has been placed in the envelop.

The outer envelop comprises a rectangular body 11 and the inner side of this body has portions thereof gummed or provided with adhesive material 12, which can be moistened whereby the body 1 of the inner envelop can be secured to the body 11. The ends of the body 11 have end flaps 13 adapted to be folded upon the dot and dash line 1 1, and the top and bottom edges of the body 1 have flaps 15 adapted to be folded upon the dot and dash line 16. The end flaps 13 have the edges thereof scalloped to provide small saw-tooth tongues 17 and large corner tongues 18, the tongues 17 and 18 being gummed or provided with adhesive material 19% The flaps 15 are scalloped to provide saw-tooth tongues 19 having adhesive material 20. The tongues 19 of the top flap 15 are adapted to interlock with the tongues 17 at the upper edges of the flaps 13, the tongues 17 at the ends of the flaps 13 to interlock and the tongues 19 of the bottom flap 15 to interlock with the tongues 17 at the lower edges of the flaps 13, as best shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing. When the flaps 13 and 15 are moistened and folded upon the sealed inner envelop and secured to said envelop, it is impossible to pick any of the flaps open without some of the tongues being marred or injured.

What I claim is An envelop comprising a rectangular body having portions thereof gummed, an inner tissue paper envelop adapted to contain matter and be secured to the gummed portions of said body, rectangular end flaps carried by said body and having the edges thereof scalloped to provide saw-tooth tongues, rectangular top and bottom flaps carried by said body and having the edges thereof scalloped to provide saw tooth tongues, adhesive material carried by the of the heck of said envelop, substantially as,
