Description

/ CORA SPEICII, OF SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA.
FLY-PAPERv HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 19, 1911.
Application filed July 20, 1911. Serial No. 639,534.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Cona Semoir, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sacramento, in the county of Sacramento, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fly-Paper Holders; and I do declare the following' to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the characters of reference thereon, which form a part of this application.
This invention relates to improvements in means for handling and using sticky fly paper, the object of the invention being to produce a holder for the fly paper in which the fly paper may be held in a secure manner whether' it be lying down or hung on the wall or other surface, and also one in which the fly paper may be readily inserted and taken out, and also one in which the sticky portion of the fly paper will not run or drip ofi:1 of the fly paper on to the furniture, carpets or floors.
A further object of the invention is to produce "a simple and inexpensive device, and yet one which will be exceedingly effective for the purposes for which it is designed.
These objects I accomplish by means of such structure and relative arrangement of parts as will fully appear by a perusal of the following specification and claim.
In the drawings similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.
Figure l is a perspective view of my improved holder. Fig. 2 is a sectional View taken on a line X-X of Fig. l.
Referring now more particularly to the characters of reference on the drawings, my'improved holder comprises a shallow pan having a bottom member' 1, side members 2 and end members 3 4. The end member 3 slopes inwardly from the lower edge of the pan and the upper member l slopes outwardly from the upper edge of the pan. Projecting through the ends 3 and 4 50 are retaining wires 5 spaced a slight distance from the bottom l to permit the fly paper to be inserted thereunder and which holds the fly paper in position in the pan. I further provide a hole or orifice G in the upper end of the pan for the purpose of hanging the same on a wall or other surface.
The structure of the outwardly flaring end t permits the fly paper to be readily inserted and taken out of the pan. The inwardly projecting end 3 holds the fly paper in position when the pan is hung on the wall and also prevents the sticky portion of the fly paper from running or dripping on the furniture, carpets or floors.
From the foregoing description it will readily appear that I .have produced such a fly paper holder as substantially fulfils the objects of the invention as set forth herein.
l/Vhile this specication sets forth in detail the present and preferred construction of the device, still in p actice such deviations from such detail may be resorted to as do not form a departure from the spirit of the invention.
I'Iaving thus described my invention what I claim as new and useful and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: l
A fly paper holder comprising a pan having bottom, side and end members one of said members projecting outwardly and upwardly from one edge of the bottom member in a sloping manner and the other end member projecting inwardly from the other end of said bottom member, wires projecting through said end members and spaced a slight distance from said bottom member,` said bottom member being provided with an orifice in its upper end', as described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CORA SPEICH.
Vitnesses F. R. MoKnNzin, GEORGE STULz.
