1'0 all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN F. HUDEO, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Invalid-Supports, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, referencebeing had to the accompanying drawings.
This invention has for its object to provide a device for supporting an invalid or convalescent person confined to the bed in an inclined position.
The support herein shown permits the adjustment of the device to support the patient in varying degrees of reclining position and also is so constructed that the whole device may be folded into a compact package which may be stored without tak- H )3 i 111; g1; pr null-.1 Mont 1.

e ls lii pWlVUWJ 1111.511 mains-1elm-111 3 The device is very efficient for the purpose for which it is intended, and due to the detachable structure it may be built around the patient in bed if the patient is not sufficiently convalescent to be moved. This is quite an important feature.
It will be further observed that the back is adjustable with respect to the arm supports, which is quite important in that the arms may always be supported in substantially a horizontal position no matter to what degree the patient may be reclining.
Various modifications may be made in the parts of the device without departing from the spirit of this invention and I do not limit myself further than the express language of the claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is: 1
1. An invalid support comprising a pair of side pieces, a pair of ribs mounted upon each of the side pieces, a back member supported between said rib members and removable therefrom by a sliding movement.
2. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, a pair of ribs carried by each of said members and providing a wedge shaped space between each pair, wedge shaped members slidably engaging the said ribs, and a back mounted upon said members.
3. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, a pair of ribs upon each of said side pieces, members slidably engaging the said ribs, and a back pivotally supported upon the said members.
4.. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, members removably supported by said side pieces, other members hinged upon the first mentioned members, a back pivoted upon the last mentioned members, and means for supporting the back in any degree of inclined position.
5. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, a pair of ribs upon each of the said side pieces, members removably supported by said ribs, other members hinged upon the first mentioned members, a back pivoted upon the last mentioned members, and means cooperating with the side pieces for supporting the back in varying degrees of inclined position.
6. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, members removably supported by said side pieces, other members hinged upon the first mentioned members, a back pivoted upon the last mentioned members, said back being formed in'two parts hinged together, whereby the same may be folded.
7. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, arm rests hingedly mounted upon said side pieces, members removably supported by the said side pieces, other members hinged upon the first mentioned members, a back pivoted upon the last mentioned members, said back being formed in two parts hingedly secured together, whereby the whole device may be folded.
8. In an invalids support, a pair of side pieces, a back supported by said side pieces, means for supporting the back in varying degrees of inclined position and a member extending transversely of the support from side piece to side piece for the purpose of engaging the limbs of the user.
9. In an invalid support comprising a pair of upright side plates each provided at its rear portion with a laterally extending foot, a back member carried by the side pieces, and arm rests independently carried by the two side pieces.
In testimony whereof, I- here'unto aifix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN F. HUDEO.
