IMPROVEMENT IN" BRACELETS.

Be it known that I, I).v D. CODDING, of North At- `tleloorol'igln'in the county of Bristol, and State ot'Massa than they have hitherto been; and
It-consists in making the body of the bracelet of twosemicircnlar pieces ot wood, arranged and coufined ,together as hereinaftermore fully described.

A and B are two semi'circular or elliptical vpieces ot' wood, which form the body of the bracelet, connected` together by means of an elastic band, c. 4
In the'cuter surface of the-pieces AB is a semi-v circnlar groove, d, which-is covered by a metallic band, e,which is semicircular in cross section, but conforms to the shape of the parts A B, as seen inthe drawt"lhe ends of these bands ee are confined at the ends of` the parts A B by means of metallic clasps f.
The semicircular groove in the parts A B and the semicircular bands c'form a tube around the bracelet, as see'u in tig. 2, in -which the elastic band c is placed, and which allow the parts A B to be rigid and formed offtwo pieces of wood, and to expand and contract as,
desired.
-I-am aware that short pieces of wood haveV heen strung upon an elasticband or elastic cord for join-` ing abracelet before; but I am not awarethat a bracelet has been before made by joining and combining two pieces of wood in the manner shown and described Ebony or any ot the ,dark-colored` woods nia-y be used, thus making the braceletliglitdn-aveight as well as in cost, while the contrast with ,gold is invitiubr and beautiful.
Having t-hus described my invention, I cla-im as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patenty Forming the body of a bracelet `of twopieces of wood, as seen at A B, substantially as described.
