COMBINATION ARM-SCYE PAD.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 26, 1911.
Application filed August 2, 1907, Serial No. 386,737. Renewed August 16, 1909. Serial No. 513,188.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDRE M. GREAN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Arm-Scye Pads, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to garment pads, and
0 its object is to provide a combined shoulderform, breast-pad and arm-scye-form or -pad adapted to build up the shoulder-tip, fill the chest-depression between the shoulderpoint and the bust and produce a continuous smooth contour about the arm-scye, at both front and back.
In the drawing; Figure 1 is a plan view or pattern of the combined form and pad partially broken away; Fig. 2 is a section on the line II-II of Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a perspective of the form finished and ready to be applied to the garment.
The form comprises an upper sheet A and a lower sheet B of suitable fabric, between which are placed a plurality of sheets 0 of wadding, one or more of the sheets preferably extending throughout the length of the form, while others are positioned near the broader ends D and E, about as shown in Fig. 1, to heighten the shoulder portion of the garment. When the ends of the form are overlapped and tacked together to form the shoulder padding, as shown in Fig. 3, these last named sheets serve to support and build up the shoulder-point of the garment, fill the depression between the shoulderpoint and bust, and to continue the shoulder lines into the sleeve; forming a combined breast pad, shoulder pad and sleeve filler. The intermediate unpadded or lightly padded portion of the form completely surrounds the arm-scye, producing a smooth contour at the back of the shoulder and beneath the arm, as well as at the more fully padded points.
What I claim is- 1. A combined garment form and pad, comprising a curved body that tapers toward both ends, said ends being free from each other and tapering to points, said ends adjustably overlapping and being more heavily padded than the intermediate portion of the body adjacent thereto.
2. A combined garment form and pad, comprising a curved body that has free widened terminal enlargements provided with tapered ends and arranged to be adjustably overlapped and being more heavily padded than the portions of the body directly adjacent said enlargements.
Signed at New York 1n the county of New York and State of New York this 31 day of July A. D. 1907.
