E is an inner tube, or it may be a rod` of wire placed e of the friction-plates..v ,Y i .g Y This tube is beveled at the upper end, so that ythe f r vwithin the tube A, between the plug and the endsvvtl,
y'plug F, turning in the direction indicated by the ar-` s jm' row, will force the tube down on the ends Cy of the l plates D, and force-the latter against `the side of the bottle, to hold thecork B against being drawn out a.t 1 the same time that the passagefor the contents cfg. l
the bottle is closed .by the plug F.
Th latter is shaped at the place furthe passagcof l the liquid in theellipticvform shown in cross-section *in fig' 250 that when turned againstbe beveled llpv y per end of the wire inthe direction represented-by the arrow, itfwill not be'obst-ructedtherehy. f .n When the plug Finis turned to allow the. liquid t-o escape, the weight ofthe "plates D willraise 'the tube,v 'y i y A, and the'plates will be tree vto allow the withdrawal otfffk f y I the cork if desired.
The tubeA is madein twopai'ts, screwing'ptogether at the top of the cork, softhat the part with the' plug` may be readilyrattached ordetached, as required for ilse. 1 'f y Having thus described my invention,
