useful improvement. in flat-Pins, of which l the following is a specification.

'lhe genei'al type of hat worn by women is so coiislructed and litted that it requires ll n means other than the hat itself, or t-lie f parts thereof for securing it in place upon l the head of the wearer. For that purpose certain types of instruments, hatpins have l been long used. 'llie more common typel of hat pin is one which is readily witidrawn completely from the hat, but there t z is another kind of hat pin, one which serves i,
