a is the spring, the ends of which ure secured tothe base plate b, and also to the Wide slotted loop o,
rl is the nnrowloop iuterloc-king'with the loop c.
e, the shield inclosing the whole mechanism, ond to which it is'atta-ehed by the eyelets ff.
The front ofthe shield in iig. 3 is removed in, order to show more clearly the manner of attaching the shield und the arrangement ofthe tie when both ends are held by the clamp.
When lixed pendant-s g are attached in the oonstruction of n tie, as seen in Iig. 4, one end ofthe support-ing bond h is also attached to thespring or shield and the other end passed around the neck und between the interlocking loops c end d.
When the spring is compressedby pressiugthe Shield between the thumb and finger ove-l' the pill'tinlosing the spring, the inner surfaces of the loops are sepornted, consequently freeing the baud or ends, and nl- 'lowing it or them to be adjusted or removed.
